    Meet the Coach

Lance Ediger is a Mental Skills Coach for athletes.  Based in Houston, Texas, he teaches through illustration, believing the foundation for mental toughness is visualization/imagery.  Lance's endeavor is to communicate the importance of applying mental skills and to use the tools on a consistent basis, just as you practice the sport physically.  Lance was voted an all-state running back by the Oregon Sports Writers Association in 1977.  He was recruited by the University of Oregon, United States Military Academy West Point, as well as other division 1 schools and ultimately signed a letter of intent for full-ride football scholarship to play wide receiver at Oregon State University. Lance was then drafted in the 10th round of the 1978 June draft as a switch-hitting shortstop for the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club.  Since then he was employed for 36 years as a police officer/ detective with the Houston Police Department now retired in October 2023.  Lance has a Bachelor's Degree in Russian Studies and a Minor in the Russian Language from the University of Houston.  He is an Affiliate member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology.  Lance has  been married to Karen for 34 years and they have a son, Kyle and wife Lindsey, and daughter, Kelsey and husband Matthew.
